For those of you who may not know, I’m Greek. My mother’s entire family still lives here in Greece and while growing up, visiting was an annual tradition. As we got older and my sister and I started to dance competitively that changed to every other year. Once I left for college we went one last time and haven’t been back since. That was five years ago. Life threw us a perfect storm and we could all come one last time until “real” life can seriously kick in.
With that being said, I have hopes to document our time here in a way to preserve the fleeting moments that pass us by. Even though we will be here for a month, we always tend to look back and wonder where the time went. This is the foundation for why I choose to take a chance and become a photographer, so that we/you could relive that moment in time and relish in the joy once again. We’re humans, and our brains (definitely mine!) can only recall so much without a bit of encouragement.
I also work hard to build relationships with my clients and I’m hoping this is one way you can feel connected to both me and my work. I’m making a pledge to post every night with all of the on goings and of course, the beauty of my mother’s home town, Nafpaktos. Be sure to follow the blog or on facebook in order to be notified – juggling a 7 hour time difference will definitely prove to be a challenge!
Here’s to an amazing adventure!
